The Canberra Labor Club Travelling Bowlers is a group of people who love lawn bowls and play regular social bowls, except when travelling, at the Weston Creek Bowling Club, Freemantle Drive, Stirling, ACT. The club also has non bowlers in our membership who like to travel to the various venues and enjoy other activities with us .

Our aim is to provide relaxation and enjoyment to our members through the game of lawn bowls and a means for making new and the rekindling of old friendships.

Regular one day coach trips are made to interstate bowling clubs on a Saturday or Sunday. Usually, at these venues, a morning game of bowls is played, then lunch, followed by an afternoon game of bowls before returning to Canberra. We don’t go to compete against these clubs but to mix with their players and to enjoy their company and make new friendships in the bowling community.

On occasions we make an overnight trip to other bowling clubs.

Once a year an extended coach tour, of about ten days, is arranged which includes sightseeing and bowls. These trips have always proved to be enjoyable by those bowlers and non bowlers who travel with us.

Anyone can become a bowling member of the Canberra Labor Club Travelling Bowlers by being a financial member of the Canberra Labor Club, a financial member of any registered bowling club and a financial member of the Travelling Bowlers. Non bowling members do not need to be a financial member of a registered bowling club but need to be financial members of the other two clubs.

New, young or not so young bowlers and non bowlers are always welcome to join with us and if you find you like the game of lawn bowls we would ask that you then join the club. Flat soled shoes are a must to play on the greens but bowls can be arranged for you by letting the bowls organiser know.
